The Jadavpur University Film Society blends the well-known outrageous spirit of Jadavpur with the magic that is cinema. Be it a casual filmgoer or a seasoned cinephile, all are welcome and valued in our community. We will talk, we will discuss, we will obsess, and we will agree to disagree. But above all, we will, as our Instagram bio proudly proclaims, live and breathe cinema. As a wise man once said, art is always political, so to address the wildly deteriorating global landscape, we also intend to arrange frequent film screenings, panel discussions, and many other activities. We hope to initiate some much-needed conversations, beginning with cinema, and create an inclusive, safe space where people will be able to not only speak and express themselves freely but also be heard.
